Possibilities of
MAIKA’s Art

While working on various projects as a painter,
I had the opportunity
to draw paintings on different surfaces
other than canvas:
sometimes on the big walls in the city,
sometimes on the shutters
on the shopping street,
at more and more locations.
Meanwhile, this feeling was getting stronger day by day.
“Art can do more.”
Art is something “just there” in the beginning.
From time to time, however,
it may make people motivated,
feel at ease, or impressed.
The thing that is “just there” gathers people and
connects people in its
own way, and it is eventually going to be expected to be “always there”.
Just one little art weaves a person, and a second,
into a street, into life and into history.
That is the Art that MAIKA KOBAYASHI is aiming for.
